• Millville Savings Bank Announces Vice-President Hire and Two Staff Promotions

    Millville Savings Bank has announced the addition of a new hire and two staff promotions.  John V. Lavin has been hired as Vice President & Commercial Loan Officer. Ricky L. Edwards has been promoted to Vice President & Business Development Officer. Shannon Elliot has been promoted to Branch Manager.

    Millville Savings Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of John V. Lavin as Vice President & Commercial Loan Officer. With an impressive 34 years of experience in banking, John brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Bank’s lending department.

    About John Lavin
    As a Vice President & Commercial Loan Officer at Millville Savings Bank, John has established himself as a leader in commercial lending, specializing in construction and commercial real estate, asset-based lending, and SBA loans. His extensive network and prior experience in Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey position him as a valuable asset to the bank's strategic growth. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University, further enhancing his ability to navigate complex financial landscapes. A lifelong resident of South Jersey, he currently resides in Mt. Laurel with his wife, Renee, and daughter, Amanda.

    In addition to his professional expertise, John is committed to community involvement. He intends to actively participate in local Chambers of Commerce that Millville Savings Bank collaborates with. He has volunteered for numerous bank-sponsored events, including initiatives with Habitat for Humanity and the Food Bank of South Jersey. John is also a strong supporter of nonprofit organizations, including People For The Poor.

    About Ricky Edwards
    Ricky L. Edwards has been promoted to Vice President & Business Development Officer. With over 15 years of experience in the banking industry, Ricky’s extensive expertise in customer service and community outreach has significantly contributed to enhancing customer experience at Millville Savings Bank. His strong background in compliance, BSA (Bank Secrecy Act), and IT ensures that the bank not only meets but exceeds industry standards while fostering meaningful relationships with our clients.

    Ricky L. Edwards holds a Master’s degree in Homeland Security and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Wilmington University. This unique educational background has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of both community safety and financial services.

    A resident of Millville, Ricky is deeply committed to his community. He serves as an instructor for Kazoku & Modern Bujutsu Dojo as a second-degree black belt, as a youth leader and is a board member at Ramoth Church of the Nazarene, where he dedicates his time to guiding and mentoring local youth.

    About Shannon Elliot
    Shannon Elliott has been promoted to the position of Branch Manager. Shannon, who joined Millville Savings Bank in March 2017, brings over 22 years of banking experience and expertise to her new role. Upon joining Millville Savings Bank as a Customer Service Representative, Shannon’s dedication and skills earned her a promotion to Assistant Manager, and now Branch Manager. Her extensive background in community banking ensures that she will continue to deliver the highest level of personalized service that our customers have come to expect.

    Shannon Elliot is a South Jersey native and has a deep connection to the community she serves. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is a former member of the Blackwood Rotary and Williamstown Sunrise Rotary, reflecting her commitment to giving back to the community.
