Join CU Maurice River at the next Membership Meeting on Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. to learn about upcoming opportunities to get involved and out-of-doors. This gathering is public and will be held at John Boggs Hall in Port Elizabeth. Afterward, stay on for a presentation by Ray Hinkle on wetland restoration projects. Ray is the Senior Technical Director of Ecosystem Restoration at AKRF, a consulting firm, working with CU Maurice River on the Manumuskin River restoration project. This upcoming project, funded by a grant from Restore America's Estuaries, will remove about 50 acres of invasive Phragmites australis, all located on privately owned land along the Wild and Scenic Manumuskin River. This project is possible due to the support by the riverfront property owners. Ray has supported the PSEG Estuary Enhancement Program since 1993 by providing a wide array of services related to tidal wetland restorations at various sites along the Delaware Bay. |
