While his research has spanned many species, Dr. Herrera has spent a considerable portion of his career investigating the ecological impacts of free-roaming domestic cats in protected areas, with the aim of finding solutions that safeguard wildlife, public health, and animal welfare. Dr. Herrera holds bachelor's degrees in Environmental Science and Biology (double major) from Augustana College and a PhD in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Maryland. |
