Tuesday, April 08, 2025African-American Women Trailblazers Will Be Celebrated at Vineland Historical & Antiquarian Society April 29
The lives of two area women and two nationally-known women will be featured in a presentation to be held at the Vineland Historical Society Museum on Tuesday, April 29, from 5 to 7 pm. The event is open to the public. The museum is located at 108 South Seventh Street in Vineland. Admission is free. Pauline Boykin (1914-1993) was the first black woman to be elected to Bridgeton City Council, a position she held for 13 years. She also served as a community activist, artist and art teacher. Hop on board the Vineland Landmark Trolley Tour scheduled for Saturday April 26, with three tours planned. The Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society, in conjunction with Siloam Cemetery, The Palace of Depression and the Vineland Downtown Improvement District, invite you to take an historic journey to learn more about Vineland’s history. The public is invited to visit the Vineland Historical & Antiquarian Society's museum and take part in a variety upcoming events. The “Legacy in Brushstrokes” Exhibit and silent auction will conclude on March 29 following the Open House from 1 to 4 pm. This is the last opportunity to bid on paintings.
